About

A city is a family with a longer table.

Our story

Silhouetted hands raised against a warm amber glow

Lantern Row started in 2008 in a rented ballroom with forty chairs, a borrowed sound system and a handful of friends who believed Pittsburgh could use one more church that loved the whole city, not just one corner of it.

We have grown the way a good neighborhood grows: one porch, one table, one invitation at a time. Today we gather at three campuses and online, and the shape has not changed. We open the Bible, we tell the truth, we eat together, and we send people back out to serve the places they live.

We do not believe a church is a show or a brand. It is a people sent to a place. Our work is to be that people in every neighborhood we call home.

What we hold to

What we believe

What we believe.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is God's word and our final authority for what we believe and how we live.

Jesus

We believe Jesus is fully God and fully man, that he died for our sins, rose bodily from the grave and will return.

Grace

We believe we are saved by grace through faith, never by anything we do.

The Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit lives in every believer, makes us more like Jesus and equips the church.

The church

We believe the local church is God's plan for his people: baptism, communion, community and mission.

Hope

We believe God is making all things new and that we get to live that hope now, in this city.

Our team

The people.
